Just take your old transponder and the letter right back to Jewel, and they'll take care of it. You will get a letter telling you it's time to replace it. Note that your transponder does have an expiration date. And obviously you get to take advantage of open road tolling (and exits that are unmanned / no coin bucket) without having to pay it online after. IPASS tolls are 1/2 the cost of cash tolls. So you have to keep a small balance on there, it's not exactly just a direct tie from the transponder to your CC on a per-transaction basis - probably in order to reduce the number of transaction fees they have to pay. You can then go on the ipass website and set up your account and add a CC to refill that balance when it drops below a certain amount. $20 of it is the deposit on the device itself. You go to Jewel, go to the customer service counter and tell them you want an IPASS. Rule 10: Crime-related posts that do not have a wider impact on the city will be removed Rule 9: Buying/Selling/Giveaway posts, and posts for roommates/housing or employment, are not allowed Articles about the same topic but from different sources are OK. Rule 8: Do not post links that have already been posted in /r/chicago within the past month. Rule 7: Don’t break the site or do anything that interferes with the normal use of Reddit. Rule 6: Use correct flairs when submitting content, and mark NSFW content as NSFW Rule 5: Do not impersonate an individual or entity in a misleading or deceptive manner Rule 4: Do not post illegal content or solicit illegal or prohibited transactions. Rule 3: Do not engage in spamming, vote manipulation, brigading, ban evasion or subscriber fraud Rule 2: Do not harass, bully, threaten or doxx others So I can owe a debt but it’s not real, it’s doesn’t go against my name. The real point is that it can’t go against my credit score or be represented through that. Is there anything I can do to have them waive the fines so I could pay the original toll cost? The lady I spoke with wouldn't budge, she told me to write in paperwork for a hearing or fill out an Affidavit of Nonliability form.Rule 1: All posts should be relevant and specific to Chicago It can go to collections because some law firm purchased my debt from the state at a fraction of the cost. How come on their end they can tell me which tolls I went though or missed but on my end, when I pay, I have to do the guesswork? It seems like it's designed to trap you. They put a $20 fine on each toll I missed and since I missed five and only paid for two, that added up. I was very surprised at this so I called the number on the notice. I just got a notice in the mail telling me I owe them $104.00. I had to map out to the best of my knowledge which tolls I got on/off. The website design and functionality is horrible, you should be able to look up the tolls you went though from your license plate. I went though some tolls and went online to pay within the grace period. I am from out-of-town and visited Chicago over the 4th of July weekend. If you go around Chicago, it will be about 5 total to go to Milwaukee (about 7 total is you go directly to Madison on I-90). Rule 9: Buying/Selling/Giveaway posts, and posts for roommates/housing or employment, are not allowed Around Chicago is quicker, but probably not by that much, espcially since they re-did the tollbooth for I-Pass (and as an non-IPASS user, it will take a while to get through the toll booths). You could always ask the rental company what they suggest to do as well. Pay it within those two weeks and you should be fine. Then you’ve got 2 weeks to pay it before they send the bill to the rental company. Rule 8: Do not post links that have already been posted in /r/chicago within the past month. The other thing you could do is take note of your license plate, drive through the tolls, note the times you go through. Rule 5: Do not impersonate an individual or entity in a misleading or deceptive manner Instead of stopping at toll booths and fumbling for cash, drivers with an I-Pass transponder can seamlessly pass through dedicated lanes, with the toll amount. Rule 1: All posts should be relevant and specific to Chicago
